Feedback Request & Weekly Wrap-Up

Today we’re looking for your feedback on a hot topic: Tipping Wedding Vendors! Whether you’re a wedding vendor or you’re a bride or groom, we want to hear from you.

Wedding Vendor readers: How do you feel about clients tipping you? Do you consider it a surprise when you get one, or do you expect it, depending on your area of expertise? Do you find that your clients typically tip you as a percentage or a standard amount? And most importantly: What do you believe the standard tipping guidelines should be for your area of expertise, and for the wedding industry as a whole?

Bride or Groom readers: Did you tip your vendors? Were there specific vendors you tipped and others you did not? When it came to the amount of money that you tipped, what guidelines or suggestions did you follow?

Any and all feedback is highly appreciated! Feel free to comment in response, or email us at hello{at}charmcitywed{dot}com. Your feedback will be used in an upcoming comprehensive post about tipping.

Before you go, are you caught up on this week’s gorgeous posts?

Happy Friday!

Carnival Anniversary Session by Nessa K Photography

This fun carnival anniversary session by Nessa K Photography features two individuals that help run the day-to-day upkeep of Charm City Wed (Serena and her tech-guru husband, Chad). That said, I’ll let Serena take it from here…

“As photographers, we know the importance of having memories captured. Our three year wedding anniversary was this past July, so we began looking into having our photos taken by someone who could really show off who we were as a couple. Nessa was a perfect choice for us. For the session, we ventured over to the Hampstead Volunteer Fire Company Carnival. The ferris wheel was ridden, games were played, and delicious funnel cake was eaten. An all-around amazing time.”

Shade Trees and Evergreens Wedding by Ashley Michelle Photography

“If rain on your wedding day means a couple will have good luck, this couple is destined to be together forever…” and we agree! This beautiful wedding took place at Shade Trees and Evergreens in Frederick, MD on one very lucky rainy day. The bride even dared to kick off her shoes, hike up her dress and walk through the muddy grounds for some truly memorable photos. Later at the reception, the groom and groomsmen got down to the music, and it looks like they dominated the dance floor! Much thanks to Ashley Michelle Photography for these gorgeous photos!

Planning 101: Ways to Keep Warm

During the summer months, we posted some ideas on how to beat the summer heat. Now that winter is fast approaching, the colder temperatures require warmth for many. Today, we’ve included a few ideas on ways to keep your guests warm:

  • Hot beverages (ie. coffee, lattes, tea, cider)
  • Blankets or scarves for your guests to take. These also make great favors!
  • Brides: Wear a matching scarf, sweater, or cardigan to keep yourself warm!
  • Space heaters for outdoor tented areas or porches
  • Fire pit for creating delicious smores!
