We firmly believe that your wedding can be anything you want it to be (and more!). Whether it’s incorporating personal touches within your wedding details or inventing your own wedding traditions (aka: the non-traditional) – we believe in making it your very own!
Today, we’re sharing some inspiration that involves having male “bridesmaids” and female “groomsmen.” If you’ve got very close friends or family members of opposite genders, who says they have to be placed on your significant other’s side? We say to mix it up! Your wedding is a day of celebrating you and, if having your opposite gender besties on your side makes you happy, go for it!

Will you be having a male “bridesmaid” or female “groomsmen?” We’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!
LOVE this post!! Weddings really should be a reflection of the couple (& those important to them), not stereotypical just for the sake of being traditional .
As my husband chose two groomsmen and I only have one sister and couldn’t choose between friends for the second attendent, I had my brother stand as my “man of honor.” It was a great decision! I had my siblings support me and didn’t have to pick just one friend (or have a gaggle of girls stand up with me, since we were going for symmetry and simplicity). It’s a GREAT idea. Furthermore, I think choosing older, wiser friends, such as mentors, is also a fantastic thing to do. You’re asking someone to attest to your relationship and character by being involved in your wedding, why not ask someone who knows a lot about you (if you have a mentor)?
I’m having a “bridesman”, but I call him “cool guy”, give it a masculine name! He’s like a brother to me, we met in college!
