Planning 101: Courthouse Weddings

A couple of weeks ago, I had the honor of photographing a fun couple at a Baltimore County Courthouse wedding in Towson – so I thought it might be a good topic to cover in terms of “Planning 101” topics. Not every couple wants an elaborate wedding and some like to keep things simple and to-the-point when it comes to the ceremony. If you’re planning on having a civil ceremony at the Baltimore County Courthouse, here are some pointers for you.

What to Bring:

  • Proof of Identification
  • Marriage License – $35 cash only – must be obtained 48 hours ahead of time, valid for 6 months in MD
  • $25 fee for the civil ceremony (cash only)

Things to Note:

  • No appointment slots are available (first come, first serve basis)
  • Civil Ceremony Hours (Baltimore Co): Monday-Friday – 9:30am-11:30am and 2:00pm-3:30pm
  • If you are bringing guests, everyone must be present before you can take a waiting ticket
  • Photo + video IS allowed at the Baltimore County Courthouse (Towson)
  • There is a security check as you enter the Courthouse
  • A copy of your marriage certificate is available for an additional $5.50 (cash, check, or money order)

These tips are specific to Baltimore County. Please note that some County Courthouses do allows appointments and some do NOT allow photo and/or video.

Oregon Ridge Park Wedding by Love Me Do Photography

What perfect day to bring you all a gorgeous wedding! This outdoor fête took place at Oregon Ridge in Baltimore County, and all of its pretty details will make you smile.

From Amanda of Love Me Do Photography: “Lauren and Chuck used to go to concerts at their venue, which is why they picked it as a spot for their wedding. The whole wedding had a very laid-back, casual vibe – which really went with the couple’s personality. Everyone had a great time, enjoyed themselves, and overall – it was super pleasant and a beautiful day!”

Catering: Atlantic Caterers

Fells Point Engagement by Love by Serena

Today’s e-session takes on a new light – sunrise, to be exact. Simple. Serene. And beautiful.

From the photographers: “We met up with Sylvie and Charlie in Fells Point – at sunrise. The light was beautiful, the streets were calm, and we were able to avoid the summer humidity. They both used to live around the area, so we photographed along one of their favorite walking/jogging routes. Between the cobblestone, the docks, and the spirit of Baltimore – what’s not to love?”
