Zombie Trash the Dress by Jillian McGrath Photography

Today, we’ve got a special Halloween treat for you. Rita and Nick’s killer trash the dress session by the talented Jillian McGrath Photography is filled to the brim with goodness. If you’re the zombie hunter and survivalist type, you’ll be sure to enjoy this one!

From Jill: “We were trying to figure out something cool, but not typical. Rita loves horror, Nick likes cowboys, and they both wanted to have fun with it. That is how Cowboys versus Zombies came about! She found all of the makeup tutorials online, we made a bunch of edible blood, and Rita bought some fake blood. It was such a great combination of us all working together… not to mention such a blast to capture! It’s not every day a bride wants to slather her wedding dress in gross, sticky blood!”

Elegant Hairstyles: Braided Updo for Medium Length Hair

When thinking of your wedding hairstyle, there are literally thousands of styles to choose from. Finding the perfect style can be difficult, especially if you’re looking to do something unique that others may not have done before. Today we’ve got a great hairstyle using an intricate braid that may be just what you’re looking for! Our lovely model for today’s post is Natalie Franke, area wedding photographer and editor of Bayside Bride.

If there’s one thing I love to do most with hair, its braiding. I love learning new braids, because it seems as though someone has created a new one every day! I affectionately call this braid the Traintrack braid, although it is also known as the Knot Headband, Chain Link braid, and by other names. I braided the front section of Natalie’s hair, teased the crown, and then swept her hair into a low side bun, accenting the bun with interweaving braids.

  • It may still be the fall, but winter is right around the corner. And with a snowy winter predicted this year by experts, let’s take what we’ve learned in years past (Snowmageddon, anyone?) and be fully prepared for this years winter: Yes, milk and toilet paper are important, but we don’t need to go crazy over getting these items when the forecast looks dim. Instead, make sure you’re stocked with the basics ahead of time: flashlights, matches/candles, canned food, and bottled water. After that, let’s get honest: you’re going to want to make sure you’ve got a good supply of beer and some great board games to do by candlelight. And a nice sturdy shovel wouldn’t hurt too. Most of all, remember when the weather gets bad and the power is out, that a neighbor may have it way worse than you. Check on elderly neighbors and lend a helping hand to those whose car is stuck in the snow or whose steps need shoveling.

Happy November, Lovebirds!
