Today’s laid-back, outdoor wedding from Val and Sarah is the epitome of perfectly chic and perfectly rustic. Set in Patapsco Valley State Park near Ellicott City, the couple transformed one of the park shelters into an intimate wedding venue. Our favorite parts? The fireplace, flower crown, and a catered Mexican buffet (you had me at burrito.)
Caterer: Boloco
Dessert: Scoops 2 U
DJ: Scratch Weddings
Floral Designer: Crimson and Clover Floral Design
Photographer: Val and Sarah
Venue: Patapsco Valley State Park
I have been lucky enough to know this fabulous couple for many years and can vouch that this wedding is as amazing and unique as they are. Everything is so gorgeous! Congrats on the feature guys!!
Absolutely beautiful wedding!!!! My daughter is getting married in this same pavilion in August and we would also like to hang white fabric over the openings. I think it looks so elegant. I was wondering if you happen to remember the dimensions of the openings? We visited there and noticed that there were curtain rod hooks up, but I was unsure if the size of the curtain rods needed. If not that is okay. Your wedding pictures are lovely.
Hi Sandy! I’m not sure of the dimensions you’re looking for, but I’m sure if you contact the state park office they’d be sure to know. Their email is customerservice.dnr@maryland.gov. Good luck!
Thank you so much, I appreciate the information!!
Hey Sandy, I don’t know if you still need the measurements but the window facing the road and window opposite of that window are both 10 feet wide. All of the entryways (the two in the front separated by the stone column, and the two in the back, one which leads to the patio and one to the grill) are 11 feet wide. We’re hanging fabric for our wedding in May, these pictures inspired us too.
Hi Josh!
I know this is a long shot because your post was from several years ago, but I am getting married here in May and was wondering if you still have the fabric that you used? If so, could I buy from you?
Thanks!!
Thanks Josh that is very helpful!! I hope you post pictures of your wedding too.
This wedding is simply amazing and has inspired my wedding reception at Patapsco State Park.its nice when you see an average venue transformed into something so magical. Question, would anyone happen to have the name of this pavillion/area and which entrance is used? I would like to book it ASAP for next year. Thanks so much!
Do you know what fabric was used for the draping? And how they were hung? I am getting married in a state park and want to do the same idea and am hoping to find the easiest way. :)
I was wondering if you could tell me the type of fabric that you used and where you purchased it? I am doing the same thing and am having a hard time. Thank you.
Hi Lindsay,
It would be best to contact the photographer directly, with the hopes that they can ask their couple!
We do fabric treatments like this! I just got a link to this from a Bride and wanted to let you know you can contact me!
What a beautiful wedding and a great idea! I am curious although I saw someone else ask the question. What pavilion or shelter did they use at the park?
Hi Diana, It is my understanding that it is Hollofield Site 300. Hope that helps!
Do you know how many people roughly this site accommodates? This wedding is SO beautiful!
Thanks!
The website says 75, but I think that it may hold more than that? Best to contact the Park office.
