We just love the bold winter colors in this romantic The Cloisters Wedding by Artful Weddings Photography! Anne from Artful Weddings tells us, “Meghan and Devin met through a friend while ending up at the same bar to with a mutual friend’s band play. Once they met, that was it. They struck up conversation instantly and were immediately struck by one another. They talked until the bar closed and have been inseparable ever since. Devin’s proposal was perfect. Every year since Devin was little, his mother Suzanne arranged for a friend to dress up like Santa and get “caught” placing presents under the tree. It’s a great tradition that the family still enjoys and my first time. Once Santa was on the doorstep, we all assumed our hiding places to prepare for the ultimate Christmas surprise. The big man walked in jollily past us and made his way to the tree where he placed the presents. I was ready with my camera but as suddenly unnerved when I heard not a clatter, but Santa’s boisterous voice – “Meghan? ?Where is Meghan?” Stunned and confused, I walked up to him. Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. I realized that everyone had all eyes on me now. I walked up to Santa, and he dug into his sack and withdrew a small maroon box. As I took it in my hands, chills rose up my spine as a I started to understand what was happening. I wheeled around to see Devin on his knees and he asked my to marry him right there and then. It was such an overwhelming and joyous moment that we shared with one another in the company of Saint Nick and our loved ones. In short, I tell people that Santa Claus himself delivered my ring! We chose the Cloisters for our wedding venue as the perfect backdrop for our romantic-vintage theme (with just a touch of Harry Potter!) Starting with my vintage lace, off the shoulder beaded strap dress, to Devin’s tweed jacket and paisley maroon bow tie and pocket square. Everyone received bronze key bottle openers (attached to the Key to Your Seat” place cards). And we honeymooned in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.”
