The Planners over at Pure Whimsy Events did an amazing job bringing this couple’s New York City vibe wedding to life! The pops of gold, blue and red make this wedding classically chic while making it impossibly fun with a city lounge vibe and fun reception activities like shooting hoops or getting a Caricature done! Katie from Pure Whimsy Events tells us, “Sarah & Chris wanted to create a very fun & playful environment for their guests while keeping things classy! As the planning went on Sarah & Chris realized there was a subtle ‘Brooklyn meets Manhattan vibe’ (note: Sarah & Chris live in Brooklyn) so we totally ran with that. The exposed bricks at the venue, wooden cross-backed chairs, cocktail style food stations such as Korean BBQ and Boneless Beef Short Rib Grilled Cheese Station were just a few ways that helped the Brooklyn side shine through. While Sarah’s Wedding Dress, the table linens and flowers played a big part of the Manhattan side! One thing Sarah & Chris mentioned from the beginning is that they didn’t want to bore their guests with having to sit down at a table for 2 hours while listening to speeches and eating dinner. They wanted their guests to interact with each other, move around and of course have fun! We had lots of variable seating for guests such as high tops with barstools and vintage lounge furniture. It helped create a space for guests to feel like they can mix and mingle. They had some of the best entertainment I’ve ever seen at a Wedding…..Guests could either get a caricature of themselves, shoot some hops (Chris is a huge b-ball fan!), strike a pose at the Photo Booth, get artsy with drawing in their guestbook, or bust some moves on the dance floor. O and lets not forget the amazing donut burgers that were passed to guests later in the evening. Everything was p.e.r.f.e.c.t.i.o.n! ”
