Today’s Evergreen wedding from Dani Leigh Photography, has the unique perspective of the bride also being a wedding planner! Sarah, of Sarah Kazemburg Events & Styling, shared this with us: “Once we started looking for wedding venues, we knew we wanted a unique setting that had a romantic, magical feel to it. We visited the Evergreen Museum and Library in Baltimore and we both instantly knew it was the perfect setting for our wedding. For the next 14 months, I took the lead as my own wedding planner, curating our event design and hand selecting every detail. I knew that I wanted an airy, neutral palette and took a minimalistic approach. Since our venue had so much character from the lush greenery and manicured gardens, to the ornate gilded architecture, to the historic charm, I wanted our decor to compliment the setting, rather than take away from it.

My bridesmaids wore airy Amsale gowns in the shade “Bellini” – which had the slightest tint of peachy blush color. Our centerpieces were a mixture of high and low arrangements, the lows including hydrangeas, garden roses, La Perla and Quicksand roses with blush and white peonies mixed in. The high centerpieces were oversized mounds of baby’s breath, which felt like clouds floating above the tables under the tented reception area. My bouquet consisted of simply my all time favorite flower – peonies in white and blush, and the maids had smaller arrangements with both roses and peonies mixed in.

I incorporated touches of rose gold, which guests first saw in our whimsy invitation suite. My MOH and I had a DIY day where we spray-painted wooden script table numbers rose-gold, which was a fun twist on traditional paper table numbers. Each guest received a gift bag with a strawberry and vanilla French macaron made by our awesome caterer Rouge. Our wedding cake was one of my favorite parts – we had a cake with mixed-sized tiers which had both my favorite flavor – dulce de leche in the bottom and top tier, and Michael’s favorite flavor coconut in the larger middle tier.

The day before our wedding was literally a monsoon, and I was so stressed out that we would have to move the ceremony indoors. The venue’s upper garden area was so special for us, and I truly wanted to have our ceremony and say our vows there. When we woke up on the wedding day, it felt like a miracle to see a clear sky and perfect weather! Our ceremony took place in the museum’s manicured, Italian-styled gardens, and cocktail hour was on the museum’s brick patio with the beautiful architecture of the property as a backdrop. It was by far the best night of our life!”

Elkridge Country Club Wedding by JFannon Photography

This summer garden theme was brought to life in this Elkridge Country Club Wedding by JFannon Photography. The couple’s classic styles mixed with the soft greens and pastel blooms set the tone for this Country Club nuptials. It even had a gorgeous wrap around white porch set for cocktail hour! Jill of JFannon tells us, “These two sweet hearted, amazing people were married at Loyola in the end of June, and celebrated their nuptials at the Elkridge Club following their ceremony. This pair is incredibly charming and kind, and I felt very lucky to spend time with them, their loving families and their friends (thank you everyone for having me). Their wedding day was beautiful. It kicked off at the Elkridge Club where the two shared a first look, laughs and pinky holding- thoughtful gifts and notes to one another had preceded. Soaked in sunlight, they then traveled by trolley to Loyola where they were wed by an amazing friend of the family and priest who came in from upstate. The ceremony was heartfelt, hilarious, and interactive in such an incredible way. After an amazing kiss and first walk down the aisle as a married couple, they headed over to Elkridge, where they shared in festive speeches from best friends, the father of the Bride and a gracious prayer. Twilight ushered in a jam packed dance floor, cake cutting, donut feasting fun and before we knew it the day was done. So happy for K and K, and so many thanks and love to them!”

Boutique Wedding Yard Sale

To Have and To Hold is happening again & it’s just a few days away!! At this indoor boutique wedding yard sale, Maryland’s finest wedding vendors, along with retail sellers and brides are gathering up their event “leftovers” for you to snag for a steal! The event is open to the public and a small donation of $2 to the two benefiting charities (Avergan Foundation and BARCS Animal Shelter) will get you in the door at 12 noon to 3pm to get all the deals!

If you are a flea market fanatic, we recommend snagging one of our early bird tickets, so you can shop before the general public, from 11am to 12 noon. Tickets for your one hour exclusive shopping hour are $15 and have to be purchased ahead of time — limited quantity available.

It’s starting to feel like fall around here, so we’re excited to share this session with you! The golden magical light in these Sugarloaf Mountain Engagement session photos, are simply dreamy!! Ashley Jayde Photography says: “Not having been to Sugarloaf Mountain before, I packed lightly thinking there would be tons of walking with the possibility of everything being muddy. I’m glad I was prepared for the worst, but this session was a dream. The location was fabulous and the couple gave me a lot of freedom. And the sunset? AHHH-mazing!”
