Ellicott City Engagement by Meghan Boyer Photography

There’s just something indescribable about the rustic beauty of Ellicott City. This sweet couple got engaged at Rumor Mill Restaurant in Ellicott City earlier this year, and came back to have their engagement pictures done on picturesque Sunday afternoon. Many thanks to Meghan Boyer Photography for these beautiful pictures!

Jerusalem Mill Engagement by Michelle Renee Photography

A few words we can think of to describe today’s e-session: ethereal, beautiful, and natural! This couple had their photos done at the historic Jerusalem Mill Village in Kingsville, MD by Michelle Renee Photography, and their sweet engagement story is definitely a must read as well:

“Heather is a fanatic about the holidays, often decorating for Christmas BEFORE Thanksgiving, so Pat took advantage of her love for that time of year when he decided to pop the question. Pat wrote Heather a poem and put in the bottom of a very large box. The box was the last gift Heather opened this past Christmas. By the time she finished reading the poem, Pat was on his knee in the home of her parents in upstate NY, holding out a gorgeous diamond ring. Of course, she said YES!”

Elkridge Furnace Inn Wedding by Jamie D Photography

Today, we’ve got a beautiful wedding held at the Elkridge Furnace Inn by Jamie D Photography. We actually featured Amy & Mitch’s Camden Yards Baltimore engagement session back in July, so it was exciting for us to see this beauty arrive in our inbox – complete with familiar faces!

So many details from this wedding truly made it “their own.” The entire celebration was held at the same location, the groom’s uncle married them, and the flower girls and ring bearers were family of the bride and groom. The beautiful earrings that Amy wore were gifted to her by Mitch, as a precious engagement gift, and Amy’s mother sewed the beautiful and unique flower girls’ dresses. Incredible, yes?

In addition to all of this: Mitch is a huge fan of the Orioles and their wedding celebration was held during a playoff game. And guess what? The Orioles won the game!

Planning 101: Wedding Gift Registry Options

So, you’re engaged and planning your wedding. If you’ve opted to plan the wedding on your own, there are many things you might not be aware of. It’s completely normal, as it’s most likely your first time going about all of this.

It’s understandable that couples are frequently on a budget when it comes to their big day, but we’ve got some tips to make it easier on yourself. Whether you’re fresh out of school and planning a wedding, or whether you’ve been saving up for quite some time, we’ve got some tips on how to go about your wedding registry.

  • Many couples go the route and register, in-person, at stores such as Bed Bath & Beyond, Target, or Crate & Barrel. It’s a fun experience for a lot of couples and you get a chance to spend some time browsing stores with your loved one. You’re able to feel the bedding you’d like, firsthand, or smell the scent of your favorite candles.
  • Perhaps you’re on a tight budget for the wedding and don’t require any particular items for your new place together. Honeyfund is a great website that allows you to accept monetary gifts from your guests. This is a fantastic option for those who might not be able to afford the honeymoon vacation they want – or even for those who are struggling with paying for their own wedding. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with asking your guests to “gift” you money towards your wedding vendor’s services. After all, you’ll be putting it towards the joyous celebration of love that they’ll be sharing with you!
  • With it being a digital age, most have decided to go about having a wedding website to share location information, allow guests to RSVP, and provide gift options to your attending guests. There are so, so many great options for [free] wedding websites, but we just love Wedding Jojo‘s cute and modern wedding websites.
