Today’s real wedding is a beautiful ceremony at a monastery and playful reception at the Maryland Zoo! From the photographer, Borrowed Blue Photography:

“Kate and Nick were married at the same monastery where her aunt is a carmelite nun, and it was also where Kate’s sister was married a few years ago. The ceremony was full of very touching moments, including a high-five from a little ring bearer. The reception was at the Maryland Zoo… complete with a portrait session in a former tiger cage and with a real, live penguin.”

This bride made her own decorations – including the ribbon backdrop, the flag bunting, the name tags, and thank you favors. It doesn’t stop there! The flowers were handpicked and designed by the bride and her aunt, the bride’s mother created the absolutely gorgeous cake, and the entire sweet affair was held at the bride’s grandparent’s home.
