This traditional Catholic wedding is simply stunning! We are in love with the photos, and we know you will be too! From photographer, Caitlin Gore:
“On a very cold New Year’s Day I traveled to the incredible St. Mary’s Historic Seminary Chapel in Baltimore City to photograph Noah & Gabe’s stunning wedding. The ceremony was a full catholic mass, ripe with tradition and sentiment. Following a very chilly outdoor portrait session, (Gabe in her strapless dress was such a trooper!), we moved a block or so north to the Mount Cavalry Church for a beautiful, cozy mediterranean-styled reception complete with espresso bar, lots of hummus and a grinning laurel wreath-bedecked groom.”
Fells Point. It’s one of those locations we fall in love with over and over again. From the brick walls to the fun pops of color – we just can’t get enough of this urban setting! Today’s sweet engagement session comes to you from Snapshots by Katie and we’ll let her take it from here:
“Andy and Marcy are a perfect balance of tradition, sentiment, carefree, emotional, devotion, and fun loving. Marcy lives in New Jersey, while Andy lives in Baltimore, and yet their love is never impacted by the distance. You can just tell how in love they are from the way they look at one another!”
I oversee a team of professional hair and makeup artists who specialize in wedding day services. We come on location and we service brides to be all the way from Pennsylvania to North Carolina. Personally, I’m a mid-twenty something vegetarian with a strikingly quiet, golf addicted husband and a mini-schnauzer. I’m obsessed with Mad Men, I trail ride occasionally and work close to 24 hours a day. I am so incredibly blessed to be supported by so many amazing artists.
How did you find yourself in the wedding industry?
When I started in the the hair industry I worked at a few different salons. A girlfriend was getting married and asked me to help with her hair. That is when it happened. There was a buzz, it was electric. The excitement, the pressure. Making someone feel stunning on one of the biggest days of their life. It was enthralling. I knew I had I found it. I found my thing.
What inspires you or your work and what do you love about working weddings?
Oh Love! I am in love with love. I have this amazing job where I get to come along on a wedding day and makeup a bride look and feel beautiful. I get to be a part of such an important day for a woman and I couldn’t be luckier.
That moment when the bride puts on her veil. There is something about that transformation from getting ready and sipping champagne with her friends to being a bride. When a bride puts on her veil and looks in the mirror there is this look that comes over their face. I wish I could bottle that kind of excitement!
What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned in your field?
I’ve learned a lot doing this as a profession. One of the biggest lessons I have learned is to always schedule extra time. Things come up on wedding days that you can’t plan for. Its a much more enjoyable experience when you don’t have to stress about being late.
What is a good piece of advice for brides and/or grooms to be.
If I could offer just one small piece of advice, sneak away after the ceremony. Your bridal party can wait 5 minutes, your photographer can wait. Everyone can wait. Just take a few minutes to relish in it with you new love. The day passes so quickly and you will be so happy that you’ve carved out a few minutes to be alone.
It may be the beginning of spring, but what better way to remember fall than with these beautiful autumn photographs from Stacy Bauer Photography? Mike really has the key to Jennifer’s heart – in more ways than one. This couple will soon be Mr. and Mrs. Kee and we love how they incorporated their last name into the shoot.
Beautiful photos! We hired Stacy to do the photography for our Oct 2013 wedding and couldn’t be happier… Already! She is wonderful to work with!ReplyCancel
