Today’s couple chose the area of Monkton for their outdoor e-session. Their sweet love and laughter just warm our hearts and are sure to put a smile on your face!
From Megan Evans Photography: “Allison & Dale knew they wanted their pictures on the beautiful and historic Torrey C. Brown Trail in upper Baltimore County. We met at Monkton Station and, from there, walked down the trail to find ‘their spot.’ They hike the trail almost every weekend so it was special to them!”
When we stumbled across this lovely Sherwood Gardens proposal by Liz & Ryan, we were just smitten. The beauty of spring, this super sweet couple, and the gorgeous colors… we simply love it all!
From Liz & Ryan: “We received Samij’s call asking us to capture his proposal to his beautiful girlfriend while we were sitting in the lounge at Bucknell during one of our most recent trips to PA. This is totally ironic because we actually went to college with Samij! Perfect timing, right? We are always so excited to hear from the groom-to-be, but hearing from Samij made us want to jump up and down with excitement!
Being able to capture this magical moment for Samij and his now fiancé, Stephanie, was such an AMAZING honor! The day was perfect and those tulips at Sherwood Gardens were in gorgeous bloom! As we watched them wander around the park, I could not hold back my smile! Happy and magical are just two words that don’t leave my mind when I think about their proposal! We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to capture these special moments in their love story.”
Working as a legal assistant for years, I developed my organizational skills, time management, and how to handle stressful situations. Even though my type A personality flourished in this position, my ability to be creative was pushed to the side. I started planning weddings in 2006 and started eventi planning in 2007. Since then, I have had the opportunity to work with some wonderful couples and I am so happy to have found my niche!
How did you find yourself in the wedding industry?
I started out doing weddings for friends here and there and found a true passion for it. My husband pointed out how much I loved it and encouraged me to make it my career.
What inspires you or your work?
My clients! I love hearing their stories and listening to their dream for their big day. As cliché as it sounds, they inspire me to make their dreams come true.
What do you love about working weddings?
I love seeing the culmination of months of design and planning come to fruition.
What’s your favorite part about a wedding?
My favorite moment is when the couple is announced into the reception, and they see the space for the first time surrounded by their family and friends – it still gives me goose bumps!
What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned in your field?
Never let a client hire their friend to be their “fill in the blank”. I have seen so many of clients have their friends as their photographer and the couple doesn’t get their pictures for a year. Or they hire their buddy as the DJ and he gets wasted.
A good piece of advice for brides and/or grooms to be.
If you are not enjoying the planning process, something isn’t right! Most of my clients have told me how much they enjoyed the planning process because we were able to focus on one task at a time and tackle things little by little. Take your time and enjoy the ride. You only get to do it once!
Katharine and Alex chose Baltimore for their engagement session and we just adore the soft feel of spring, the colors, and their love for one another! Their oh-so-sweet engagement session comes to you from the talented Natalie Franke Photography and we’ll let her take it from here!
“I met Katharine and Alex in Federal Hill for their Baltimore Engagement Session. These two are so incredibly welcoming and heartfelt in everything that they do. Walking around the cobblestone streets and historic alleyways of their neighborhood, they had me smiling and laughing the entire time. They even changed into Orioles shirts and Ravens Jerseys for a quick celebration of their Baltimore pride!
When you meet your soulmate at a young age after growing up only a few streets apart, it feels truly meant to be. Katharine and Alex are high school sweethearts with a love story that has ‘soul-mates’ written into every other line… After years of dating, college graduations, and a law school acceptance – Alex got down on one knee and asked Katharine to be his wife. Surrounded by dozens of people in New York City, a kiss sealed the beginning of this amazing engagement journey!”
Thanks so much for sharing this Serena! We are so excited that Samij and Stephanie ‘s AMAZINGNESS is on Charm City Wed!
