Located at the Brookeville Academy in Brookeville Maryland this styled shoot brings the richness of traditional colors interplayed with a bohemian style. It reminds us of what would be a modern take on an old castle wedding. The interplay of historic location, berries, pewter plates and royal colors bring us to the days of Robin Hood. Yet, there is a simple feminine elements throughout bring us to more modern day.
The historic stone building created the perfect setting for this styled shoot. Stylist Shelagh Bolger from Shelagh Bolger Event Planning & Styling, designed an elegant table setting using a rich blue tablecloth, pewter vintage table settings, and fawn hemstitch napkins, all the pieces filled the heart of table, creating a groaning board effect. This setting is both unique and romantic, having a strong historic feel.
The cotton paper invitations, designed by Jenny Olsen of Wild Hearts Calligraphy added the perfect element of elegant aged simplicity. Torn edges, light font and simplistic deign, this invitation offers an old world effect, while bringing it to a more modern day appearance with the thin typeface and clean design.
At the center of the table, Julie Abrera of Beaumont House Design, created an exquisite floral bouquet full of delicious aromas; Sweet pea, lilac, garden roses, hellebore, clematis, ranuncula, viburnum, stock and antique carnations were delicately arranged harmoniously together. Berries were also interspersed into the design, creating a feeling of abundance. The bridal bouquet was made of was lilac, garden roses and mixed greenery. Simple, full and completely elegant, this bouquet is incredibly romantic.
Lauren Connolly, of Sweet Elephant Bakeshop created a Madagascar bourbon vanilla Cake with vanilla Buttercream icing and it was a work of art unto itself. The cake showcases a light violet textured buttercream. The cake was then topped with stunning florals and greenery that wrapped around the cake. Romantic, elegant and decorated beautifully, we love the loose design of the cake and the felinity that it displays.
Kristin and Brianna of Amie Decker Beauty created a bridal hairstyle with a loose, textured updo which they paired with an elegant natural make-up palette. The loosely coiled coifs of her hair are ultra feminine and still beautifully structured. A single veil with a thick lace border finished the look.
