Annapolis May Day Styled Shoot by Simply Picturesque Photography & Heather Benge Events

Impeccable florals, stunning gowns, and unique details – this Annapolis styled shoot has it all! Photographed by Simply Picturesque Photography, this styled shoot hosts a wonderful “May Day” theme.  The venue was Whitehall in Annapolis, Maryland.

May Day is a holiday that celebrates spring and all the beautiful elements of color brought forth by the season. With a bright, bold color palette full of yellows, oranges, pinks, an array of blues and greens, you’re transported to an early summer day. This styled shoot is a true celebration in artistry where the team of wedding vendors brought their vision to life.

Be sure to check out the awesome vendors in this collaboration.

BRIDAL LOOK:

The first look the model is wearing the Mia gown from Enaura Bridal. This long sleeve sheath wedding gown showcases sheer sleeves and an illusion neckline. The back of the gown features a low v back while, the bodice of the dress is adorned in whimsical lace and beading. The model’s hair was styled in a loose updo with a high crown and florals tucked in the back of her hair.  This gown is incredibly transitional. It can go anywhere from rocker chic to high-end feminine. Drop earrings finish this look and create a more whimsical appearance while keeping it really high-end.

Blue Delphiniums paired with orange Roses create a simple, but dramatic display. A colorful ribbon evokes a playful May Day feel.

Early Spring branches, Roses in varying shades of pink and pops of white make for a delicate bunch of blooms.

The second model is wearing the Paisley Gown from Enaura Bridal. This gown has a deep sweetheart neckline, and embroidered bodice and a really fun cascading layered full skirt. The model’s hair is woven in a loose fishtail braid fashioned into an updo.  Florals are woven in the side of this romantic style.  The flowers paired with this gown are a large arching peach bouquet that when held creates a stunning cascading presentation bouquet.

Love this romantic floral bouquet. It is high impact, but smaller than the others in this shoot. The soft colors, buttery yellow Roses and form accent the dress beautifully. Again, the colorful ribbon keeps the May Day theme.

STATIONARY:

By Brittany Branson incorporated soft colorful details for this stationery. The place cards and stationery feature a beautiful watercolor theme. The invitations showcase soft and romantic florals and an image of the venue.  No detail was overlooked, even the inside of the envelope was styled with the waterfront landscape of Whitehall Manor. These invitations give the guests a preview of the wedding day. The nod to the location and the opulent florals really lend to the cohesive style of this event.

Reception Inspiration

The historic Whitehall venue which has picturesque fields and a waterfront view. This area creates a beautiful space for a wedding reception. For this shoot, this area was styled by Heather Benge Events &  Elevee Events . The inspiration table is washed in blue with an oversized centerpiece.  This colorful centerpiece showcases 3 bouquets with falling ribbons, creating a feeling of the May Day Pole. (Even if this table is too styled for you, a simple centerpiece would showcase the monochromatic tablescape which is meticulously curated.. we are in love.)

The base of the table was decorated in a beautiful tone of cornflower blue. The soft blue tablecloth is complemented with textured blue goblets that offer a vintage vibe and lacey, blue dinner plates. The cutlery adds a French accent and a pop of color with the ivory handles and gold-tone metal. Additional color was brought into the setting of the table with a fun and a floral napkin. This monochromatic cornflower blue table is romantic and has a lot of fun details. The look is great for the bride wanting a soft and romantic tablescape. This styled table was accented with a bold placement of the highly colorful and structured floral centerpiece.
