Happy New Year Baltimore! Congratulations to all of the couples who became engaged over the holidays. We are so excited to be one of your resources for all things wedding in Baltimore!
Have you made any resolutions for this year yet? I have to admit I haven’t given it much thought. I spent the end of 2014 reflecting on how grateful I was for being brought through a very difficult year, and how happy I am to be just where I am. Sometimes that may be better than resolving to change anything. But on the other hand… resolutions are still good. Changing for the better is great. I just may make a New Year’s resolution by the end of this post!

I’d like to get a bit personal for a moment, and share some bittersweet news. As of today, I will be officially handing over the duties of Editor-in-Chief to my good friend and fellow Baltimore wedding vendor, Teri Pozniak of tPoz Photography. Please welcome Teri! :) I am very excited for her and I know she is going to do amazing things for Charm City Wed. I will stay on as a Contributing Editor and Wedding Show Coordinator.
Why the change? Well, that is the personal part. We all know that life is more than just the pretty photos we see online. I often look at the happy couples we feature and wonder, ‘What’s their story? What struggles and victories have they experienced?’ So here’s a part of my story: from a young age, I have suffered from balance issues and vertigo. As I grew older I learned that vestibular disorders, as they’re called, can be caused by hundreds of things, and no doctor could figure out exactly what I was suffering from. This past year my suffering reached a critical level, and suddenly life was a lot more difficult. I only had enough energy to focus on two things: my family and getting better. So I made the difficult decision to start the process of promoting a new Editor-In-Chief. I knew that it was the best decision to focus on taking things off my plate, re-centering myself, and allowing someone much more able to give 100% effort on the blog for readers when I knew I could not. It was a difficult decision, but I truly feel a good one! I am also happy to report that through many, many visits to new specialists, I have finally been diagnosed (Migraine Associated Vertigo & BPPV), and have started feeling much better.
Along with that, I have one other big announcement to make. (Stay with me here!) Due to the change of ownership and my own personal setbacks as described above, Charm City Wed’s annual wedding show The Mix Event will be pushed back one year. I would much rather take ample time to coordinate a fabulous show than try to throw it together last minute, and I hope you agree! Contributing Editor and Co-Founder Serena and I absolutely loved throwing this show last year, and we can’t wait to do so again. The second annual Mix Event will now be on February 27th, 2016! The Mix Event’s new site will be up on March 1st of this year with information for both vendors and attendees.
Thank you to all of our readers, supporters, and the Baltimore wedding vendor community. I resolve to make 2015 the best year yet, and help promote the Baltimore wedding industry in any way possible. Cheers!
Rochelle- I wish you all the best in learning to live with your condition and I certainly hope you see continued improvement! It sounds like you are taking good care of yourself, and that is fantastic! Terri will do a most excellent job, for sure. Congratulations, Terri!
Thank you Rochelle!
I’m sad that you are moving on, but excited to continue Charm City Wed in the tradition that you & Serena have set forth! Much Love, tPoz
Rochelle you have been such a wonderful person to work with in the world of blogs and wedding submissions. In the handful of times we have met, you have always been all smile and never let on that you were battling with such an aliment. I admire your strength and ability to do so much in the face of such a challenge. I wish you nothing but great things and healing.
Teri, the content you publish on the TPoz blog is always so fresh and fun and I am really excited to see you thrive and shine as Editor and Chief at Charm City Wed : )
Hugs,
Rachel

Rochelle, I’m so sorry for your hardships over the past year but glad to hear you’ve zeroed in on the problem and are feeling better. No one better than tPoz to take the reins! I, too, have big changes coming. I will be retiring at the end of 2015 & moving to Florida! Best Wishes with your 2016 bridal show!
