Creativity abounds in this real wedding photographed by Amber Reinink, with almost every detail being a DIY perfection done by the couple themselves!
From the bride: With this wedding not being mine nor Rich’s first rodeo we knew we wanted to do things our way! We wanted it to be only close family and friends and our blended family was the most important factor to us. The theme was Rock-a-billy Retro with some country flair, meshed together like a family quilt. We wanted a wonderful environment and also to support local businesses and have a great party. I knew it had to be DIY so we could afford it and did most of the wedding myself. BBQ for dinner from the Black Hog in Frederick, pie instead of cake from a little local bakery called Ed’s Country Bakery, and fresh lemonade and sweet tea from my stovetop rounded out the menu. I made the table centerpiece cloths with fabric of various patterns and colors to look like a quilt: after all we were becoming a very large “blended” family! All in all it turned out just perfect, and represented us as a couple and as a family.
