Hyatt Regency Inner Harbor Baltimore Wedding || Janay & Marcus || Capture Legacy Photography & Cinematography

Janay and Marcus were married at the Hyatt Regency in Baltimore in a rooftop ceremony. The ceremony was  followed by a reception with sweeping views of Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. They were surrounded by close friends, family and their son when they exchanged their vows. The reception decor was black and gold and focused on stunning views and glittering touches.

The Look

Janay wore a deep sweetheart neckline fit and flare bridal gown. The gown featured an illusion neckline and an open back which was decorated with gems. Her Badgley Mishka shoes featured a closed toe and a decorated heal showcasing high style and feminine touches.

Not to be outdone by his wife, Marcus wore a modern tux with a white jacket trimmed in black. His shoes were just as styled as the bride’s. He chose Christian Louboutin spiked men’s flats for his footwear. His look was finished with a simple black bowtie and black vest.

The Location

The couple had their first look in a similar location to their ceremony, a rooftop. These locations afford views of the famed Baltimore landscape. The couples who are all about the location, this is a perfect way to have the Baltimore vibe in all your images. After the first look on the rooftop, they traveled to the harbor waterfront to take images along the piers. Right after their portraits, they were married at their rooftop ceremony at the Hyatt Regency Baltimore. After, they headed to their reception at the Hyatt Regency Baltimore to celebrate with family and friends.

The Reception

The reception space at the Hyatt Regency Baltimore boasts floor to ceiling windows which overlook the Inner Harbor in Baltimore. This is a perfect space for a wedding if you love the twinkling city lights as the backdrop to your evening event. The reception was decorated with long rectangular tables draped in black, while gold table runners were placed as a high impact accent which finished the look. Gold Chiavari chairs finished the space with a finished and elegant appearance. The cake was a stunning three-tier creation that also featured accents of black and gold. The rest of the decor was kept to a minimum allowing for the views to take center stage. The couple enjoyed a sparkler send-off as the evening wrapped up.

We hope you enjoy these images and be sure to check out the vendors below.

Considering the Details of your Day

You’ve heard the phrase, “The devil is in the details.” For those of us in the wedding industry, no truer words could be said. As event professionals, we are entrusted with the task of executing dreams. It’s the details that take an event from typical to unforgettable. If you are in the process of planning your wedding, it can feel overwhelming. While we love all the wedding day inspiration out there (think Pinterest, Instagram, and ahem…wedding blogs) it can be a bit overwhelming determining a color palette and look that present your style in a connected way. Hiring a stylist or coordinator can definitely take the pressure off because they have the skill set to simplify the process, but if that’s not in your plan, a few tips can help to pull together a cohesive look that is just perfect. Using a lovely Fall inspired mini-shoot we are going to hone in on some of the details that pull an idea throughout your wedding day.

The inspiration: Boho Autumnal Backyard Wedding

The Color Palette: Amber, Ochre, Pale Pink, White, and warm mixed metallics (Bronze, Copper, Gold and Brass)

The first glimpse of your wedding (for your guests) is the invitation. Invitations share the pertinent logistics of your day, but they also set the tone for what friends and family can expect at your wedding.  Hand-lettered invitations, like this pretty one from Letters By LeVault, say a stylish, casual Fall event is ahead! Whatever style and color story you choose for your wedding day–stay true to it! It’s fine to mix and match elements, but remember a pulled together look requires consistency. The little details of your day are the ideal place to focus. Invitations and signage, tablescapes and flatware, and the decorative elements used to layer your vignettes are opportunities for you to create a custom look that represents your own personal style.

Autumn Leaves in a Bouquet

If you’re having a Fall wedding, consider incorporating Autumn leaves into your bouquet. They add a lovely seasonal element and can coordinate with just about any color palette. Foliage brings movement and structure to any floral design so consider shape, color, and texture when talking with your florist. They’re sure to have a variety of options that will look fabulous and fitful all day.

If Autumn is the setting for your wedding, consider incorporating Fall leaves into your florals. From crimson to bronze they bring the splendor of the season into your wedding day. Feel free to mix classic Autumnal colored-foliage with more traditional greenery.

Gramercy Mansion Wedding Baltimore || Jessi Vaughn Photography

Intimate, romantic and feminine, this entire wedding took place at Gramercy Mansion in Baltimore. Jessi Vaughn Photography shared this event with us and we are excited to allow you a behind the scenes look at this wedding. Gramercy Mansion offers a historic and formal event space where the focus can really be on a social event . All the buildings feature quality historic decor, courtyards, lush gardens and the space is well cared for. If you’re looking for an intimate, high-end space with a historic feel, check this venue out. It is personally, one of my favorites.

The Look

The bride wore her in down with side-swept style accented with a beautiful crystal hairpiece. Her gown is an ultra feminine Hayley Paige ballgown in a soft color of sandwiched orchid. The gown features long sleeves, heavy embroidery, illusion neckline and a bustle in the back that reminds me of the late 1880’s.  Her florals were more traditional with hues of pinks accented with white and black. There was no bridal party, just the two of them!

First Look/Ceremony

The couple did a first look on the front drive thru porch of Gramercy Mansion. The groom wore a navy suit with a simple peach colored rose boutonniere. After their first look, they posed for pictures around the manicured grounds of Gramercy. For anyone who hasn’t been there, this venue has a plethora of gardens, stairs, altars, and florals for stunning portrait locations. They were married in the center lawn in front of Gramercy Mansion’s Carriage House. Friends and family watched them exchange their written vows amid the beautiful garden landscape.

Reception

The reception was at the Carriage House at Gramercy mansion. The venue has a center brick courtyard which serves as the perfect space to host a cocktail hour. Guests were treated to live  music and cocktails. The reception space was decorated with flowers that mimicked the bridal bouquet. One of our favorite elements was the table numbers which displayed pictures of both the bride and groom at that corresponding age (table 1 had images of them when they were 1!).  Live music carried on through out the night and guests mingled and dined among the beautiful space. Gramercy Mansion is ideal for social events where you want guests to mingle and feel like they are enjoying a high-end historic home.
