Lots of thoughtful touches made this Chevy Chase Country Club Wedding personal. Thanks to Olivia Jacob Photography for sharing it! She shares: “Sarah and Tom’s first date was at Fenway Park at a Red Sox game. They met at “Game On” (a nearby sports bar) for a drink before the game, with every intention of getting to their seats before the first pitch. They started talking, and before they knew it, it was the 6th inning! They hurried into the game, and watched the last two innings from their seats. Neither one remembers who won the game that night, and I don’t think either cared (which is saying a LOT for Tom, an avid Red Sox fan).

Tom made a secret trip to Maryland to ask Sarah’s father for permission to propose. Over an extended lunch at Clyde’s in DC, Tom shared with his future father-in-law his plans for the proposal. At the end of lunch, Tom presented Sarah’s father with an “Application to Date My Daughter”: a document her father had jokingly given her when she headed off to College. The last question asked “What do you want to be when/if you grow up? Tom returned the completed application to his future father-in-law. Tom’s answer to that last question: “I want to be your daughter’s husband.”

The couple wed at the church where the bride attended mass all her life and where took her First Communion. Tom and Sarah’s wedding was a reflection of what they value most: Their faith, their families, and their friendships. Their Catholic wedding ceremony at Holy Redeemer Church was traditional but deeply personal, solemn but joyful, and hand-designed by the couple. They selected their readings, the music, and even altar servers intentionally. They danced the night away with the band “Nightsong,” and even kept dancing for 20 minutes after the music ended!”
