Oh do we ever have a treat for you today! Today’s amazing real wedding is 1940’s do-wop chic and we can’t get enough of each an every detail. Drive-in table cards, write-on record guest book, live swing bands, and our favorite: the bridesmaids carrying their bouquets in vintage coca-cola bottles. The Baltimore Museum of Industry provided the perfect venue and it was all captured by Kirsten Smith Photography. Enjoy!
The old-country feel of the Antrim 1844 Country House & Hotel provides the perfect backdrop for today’s classically beautiful Antrim 1844 wedding!
From the photographer, Jonathan Hanson: “The bride & groom were drawn to both the beautiful location and the cuisine at Antrim 1844. The venue provided them with an ideal location for everyone to prepare for the wedding in one spot by utilizing the various guest cottages. The gardens provided them with a wonderful backdrop for the photography, and was something that they wanted to incorporate into the wedding itself. The sprawling countryside provided a breathtaking view during the sunset!”
Capitol Romance, one of DC’s amazing wedding blogs, will be hosting their first DIY Wedding Workshop on May 4th! This brand new series of workshops is for the hands-on wedding planning couple. Couples will learn from professional, local DC area wedding vendors & artisans to create something one-of-a-kind for their wedding. Each workshop will focus on a different project, but all workshops will include light snacks and refreshments (sangria!) provided by local DC small businesses.
We’d love for you to attend their very first workshop, so we’re giving away a pair of tickets to the event! Designer Ciao Nina will be teaching attendees how to use wire and beading to create a unique hairpiece for your wedding day or any event! Bring your partner, a family member, a bridesmaid or even just a friend and learn how to create something unique for your wedding day. Nina will demonstrate the DIY project and then give attendees the tools & skills they need to create their own simple hair comb (perfect for a rehearsal dinner, fancy dinner party, or other event!). The haircomb attendees will make can be used as part of a veil, within the hairstyle (in addition to a veil) or even by itself, as a simple, but unique addition to your wedding hairstyle.
Each workshop ticket covers all materials to make the DIY project, light refreshments, beverages, favors (chocolates!), and even Sangria, provided by our sponsors.

We can’t get enough of the beautiful colors today’s real wedding! Bright blues and greens paired with the soft pinks create a gorgeous theme for this southern-inspired affair by Dana Cubbage Weddings.
From photographer, Dana: “The bride wanted her day to feel as Southern as possible, and with the help of her florist + DIY details, I think she did a fantastic job! Her beautiful lace dress was the perfect inspiration piece for her Southern-inspired wedding, and the bridesmaids wore beautiful striped dresses that felt preppy + Southern chic all at the same time. The bride’s DIY decor included a monogramed mailbox for cards, rustic wooden boxes on each table to hold the beautiful floral arrangements, chalkboard table numbers and cute bunting on their sweetheart table. The day was filled with love + laughter as the couple said “I Do” at Salem Lutheran Church, where the bride’s grandfather was a founding member. That made the ceremony extra special!”
Now THAT’S how you have a wedding at the BMI.
I was there in person! It was even better than these amazing photos! Gorgeous~!
