You get the summer wedding invitation in the mail, and you’re excited for the upcoming nuptial celebration! The first thing you ask yourself – “What am I going to WEAR!?” Thankfully, Rent the Runway (affiliate link) has surfaced, offering designer dresses to be rented for a fraction of the price. The perfect setup for someone who doesn’t want to wear the same dress over & over again, or wear an expensive dress once & have it hanging in the closet. We asked some of our favorite wedding vendors, and they came up with their favorite picks, helping you decide what to wear to a summer wedding!

Here’s how it works – visit Rent the Runway as early as possible to reserve your favorite style. You can see the dress on real people, as well as their feedback on how the dress fit them. When you place your order, you choose the size that you think will be the best fit, and add a backup size for free. For an additional fee, you can add a 2nd style dress to be shipped to you as well. You keep the dress for either 4 or 8 days, depending on your reservation, and then you ship it back, where RTR takes care of the dry cleaning. An alternative to this, is to make an appointment to visit the Rent the Runway Store in Georgetown, where a personal stylist will help fit you into your favorite styles.

To Have and To Hold is happening again & it’s just a few days away!! Maryland’s finest wedding vendors, along with retail sellers and brides are gathering up their event “leftovers” for you to snag for a steal at this unique boutique indoor yard sale! The event is FREE and open to the public from 12 noon to 3pm.

If you are a flea market fanatic, we recommend snagging one of our early bird tickets, so you can shop before the general public, from 11am to 12 noon. Tickets for your one hour exclusive shopping hour are $15 and have to be purchased ahead of time — limited quantity available.

A long and crazy list of things you might be able to buy include: vases, votives, frames, linens, signage, accessories, furniture, table number holders, invitation pockets, envelopes, card stock, embellishments, rhinestones, stickers, washi tape, glitter paper, specialty stock, ribbon, rope, twine, bags/totes, serving pieces, glassware, china, office supplies, equipment, décor pieces, paper props – photobooth accessories, crafting supplies, bakeware – baking supplies, company tshirts/branding items, old bridal magazines/literature and so much more!

Retail vendors too – catch up on some holiday shopping from awesome local vendors!

Other than getting to snag some great deals and hanging out with some really cool wedding vendors and other attendees, you will be shopping for a great cause! This event is supporting a local non-profit – Benevolent Baskets – www.benevolentbaskets.org

– Free on-site parking
– Eleven Courses will have food and drink for sale.
– Pixilated Photo Booth
– Tickets will be sold at the door on the day of the event.
– A limited number of early bird tickets will be sold online and if they sell out before the day of the event, then they will NOT be sold at the door.
– General admission shopping starts at 12 noon — only early bird ticket holders will be able to shop from 11am to 12 noon.

Feather & Fawn Photography sent us this lovely Glenview Mansion engagement session, and we are thrilled to share it! “We met Autumn and Mark at Glenview Mansion in Rockville, and it was a fairytale-like engagement session! Autumn and Mark is the sweetest couple, and their love and joy were so evident throughout the session. They also have amazing taste in their choice of outfits. Mark was wearing a classy charcoal suit and shoes that he will be wearing at the wedding, while Autumn’s dress from Francesca’s was stunning and gorgeous, perfectly matched by the romantic bouquet made by 41st Flower Design Studio!

Since biking was a big part of their dating life, they rode their bike at the trails close by, and it was so much fun! Afterward, they sat down beneath the shade of a tree and just enjoy the moment, reading the Bible together, as that is what their faith and marriage are building upon. What an amazing couple!”

Hunt Valley Country Club Wedding by Be Photography

We love this Hunt Valley Country Club wedding captured by Be Photography. “Drawing inspiration from the season they planned to tie the knot, October, they incorporated fall colors into their décor. They were even able to prepare the flowers with their florist, stripping, cutting, and preparing the blooms- providing the exact floral vision they dreamed of. Favorite wedding day details included a secondary dessert of tarts (playing on the couple’s last name), incorporating the brides’ Filipino heritage into their ceremony, and having a consistent high-energy dance floor. The couple offers up some helpful advice to others planning their wedding, adding that it’s important not to get caught up if everything isn’t perfect on the actual day of your event. “By then, all of the work will be done, and your only concern should be enjoying yourself,” Emily shares. “Don’t rush the planning process if you don’t have to. Both the wedding and our reception had so many wonderful memories, and we are so thankful for our wonderful photographer for capturing it all. Enjoy your special day, and look forward to the day after—where you get to open your gifts and begin your life together.”
