Hunger Games Inspired Wedding by Mollie Tobias

If you were as obsessed as we were, you’re going to love this Hunger Games Inspired Wedding Styled shoot from Mollie Tobias Photography!  Mollie fills us in on this shoot…. “With the release of Mockingjay, Panem is at a pivotal moment; cracks are beginning to show in the decadent facade of the Capitol and the spark of revolution has caught. The world as they know it is crumbling around them, but their love will endure even while the world burns down around them. For this styled shoot I wanted to take inspiration from the Hunger Games movies, but move in a direction that was a little bit different than we had seen before. This shoot shows an elegant couple dressed in Lazaro couture against the decaying backdrop of an abandoned mill. The interplay of the over the top style against a backdrop that was falling down around them was very important to create the feeling of an “us against the world”type of love that we capitalized on for this shoot. The pops of bright color and the mischievous bend to some of the images create a dynamic, fun feeling for the shoot ripe with tension.”

Rockburn Branch Park Engagement by Meaghan Elliott Photography

Focusing on the fundamentals of a relationship means extra work, but it also makes it extra-worthwhile. You can see the extra work, in Amanda+Jason’s super sweet Rockburn Branch Park Engagement session, from Meaghan Elliott Photography. Amanda shares a little bit about how she & Jason met, and how they approach their relationship. “Jason and I were set up on a blind date by my brother-in-law. I remember like it was yesterday, being a nervous wreck and trying to come up with every excuse to cancel. I can now admit that it was the best plan I’ve ever agreed to. The beginning of our story unfolded very naturally. He was so easy to talk to, which made me comfortable being around him. I can still recall thinking to myself on one of our first dates, “wow, I could do this for the rest of my life.” I know it sounds cliché but I am now one of those people who tell their single friends, “you’ll know when you meet the right one.” The fundamentals of a relationship definitely come naturally to us. But even when you find “the one”, relationships still require work. One of my favorite things to do, and one I find very important in our relationship is so simple. Just making time for each other every night. When you get engaged, plan a wedding, pursue career advances, buy a house, turn that house into a home, and just live life in general, it’s easy to get off track and lose sight of each other. Jason and I make it a priority every night, even if it’s just for twenty minutes, to lay in bed, talk to each other, and spend time together. This means that there is no TV, no phones, and no social media. Getting to spend uninterrupted time with him is honestly my favorite part of the day, and makes everything feel worthwhile.”

Pier 5 Wedding from Photography by Brea

The bride called it magical – which is a perfect description for this Pier 5 wedding from Photography by Brea!  The bride, Alexis, shares a little bit about their day  “We had a truly magical wedding on 11/1/14 at our Pier 5 Hotel wedding in downtown Baltimore. Our colors were dark purple and gold. I (the bride) wanted a romantic and whimsical theme but also fun and not-so-traditional. The Pier 5 and the Inner Harbor were the perfect backdrops to our dream wedding. We met, fell in love, work in and live in Baltimore City. All the vendors worked so hard to make our night perfect. We had friends and family fly in from all over the country to celebrate with us.”

Korean Wedding in Baltimore by Robin Shotola

When couples allow their wedding to reflect their backgrounds and personalities, it really shows, and it’s especially true with Ann+Aaron’s wedding from Robin Shotola Photography! Though Ann is originally from Baltimore, the couple currently lives in San Francisco – so they had a “San Francisco meets hometown Baltimore” wedding, with a picnic-style reception, gypsy jazz, and some AMAZING Korean wedding food. This couple has a style that’s all their own, and it was such a joy it get to know them and their families to document their wedding day. Both the ceremony and reception were held at the Holy Korean Martyrs’ Catholic Church in Baltimore Maryland. Ann and Aaron planned the whole wedding from California and even flew their officiant in from Ireland! Despite the long distance logistic challenges, everything came together beautifully. There were many special touches throughout the day, so many special friends who participated, and such a heartfelt ceremony. Ann has some words of wisdom for brides who are currently planning their day – “Let people help you. Delegate tasks.”
