Joy Michelle Photography sent us this unique bookstore engagement session, and we love how this couple made it a reflection of their personalities! “Finding a fun, meaningful, and romantic indoor activity for an engagement session in blustery January can be tough, but when Josh & Anna suggested the Annapolis Bookstore I knew it was perfect!! These two bookworms met in high school and will be tying the knot this June! This underground, eclectic bookstore painted the perfect backdrop for Josh and Anna’s engagement session and reflected something they both love! They kept saying “this is so us!!!” For the second half of their engagement session, we walked around Downtown Annapolis onto St. John’s campus.”
Lush, ruffly and romantic, this winter wedding at the Lord Baltimore Hotel from Brittany DeFrehn Photography is simply stunning! Bride, Lacey, shares her favorite parts of her wedding day! “The vision for our wedding was a romantic and timeless style with a little bit of sparkle! There were three design pieces for the wedding that set the stage for the entire evening. The first was the whimsical metal tree that was outside the ballroom for the ceremony and reception. This piece had clear glass balls filled with glitter and strings of swarovski crystals hanging from all the branches. All the glitter and crystals caught the light and made everything sparkle. The programs, seating cards and wedding favors were displayed under the tree during different times of the night. The second design element was the vintage arbor that was centered before the aisle for the ceremony and later used as a backdrop for the cupcake table. A chandelier hung from the arbor and made the aisle look magical and felt very romantic. The arbor and chandelier were bought while the Bride and Mother attended a craft fair down in Leesburg, VA in the summer of 2014. The third and biggest statement for the wedding was the design wall that was hand built by the Father of the Bride. The Bride, her mother and several dedicated friends and bridesmaids helped stuff the 7 foot by 9 foot wall with tissue paper, making a large design. Over 10,000 sheets of tissue paper were used to create the romantic backdrop for the ceremony and head table.
Some of my favorite memories of the day include getting ready with all my loved ones and bridesmaids. The beautiful song that was sung during our ceremony, the live artist who painted throughout our entire evening and how our photographer was able to catch our first look. Our first look just looks just like us, Chase’s expression when he saw me for the first time was so cute and so typical him!”
Brooke Tyson Photography captured this engagement proposal for this gorgeous couple! She says “While walking to dinner one evening, Matt surprised Stephanie with a beautiful evening proposal in Mount Vernon. Matt came up with a ploy to explain why I wanted to photograph the couple, and then after I took a picture of them together, he got down on one knee and asked Stephanie to be his wife :) Now the two are planning their autumn 2015 wedding right in the heart of beautiful Baltimore!”
This same-sex Patapsco Park Engagement session is so cozy, and you know we love when furbabies are included in the pics! From Love Life Images photographer, Elisha: “Fall is one of my favorite seasons. The changing leaves, the pumpkins, the sweater weather, I love it all. I was so pleased to be doing a fall engagement session with David and Brandon. We met at Patapsco State Park and walked around the pond and later found ourselves at the swinging bridge. Being a dog lover myself, I was so excited to hear they’d be bringing their furry friend. Not only do dogs add an element of fun to the photos, but they often help to “break the ice” as a welcome distraction from the camera. We all had a fabulous time exploring the park and taking advantage of the various backdrops. I’m so looking forward to David and Brandon’s wedding next year at the Corradetti Glass Studio!”
