Inspired by the vibrant colors and cool weather of the fall season, this couple set their Hunt Valley Golf Club wedding date for September, after a 14-month engagement. Restaurant employees JD and Caitlin first met while working together, and Caitlin felt sparks as soon as she met him. In anticipation of seeing him at her Friday night shift, Caitlin played “Friday Night” by Eric Paslay and sang along on her drive to work. Little did she know that this would be the same song that would play as she walked into her wedding ceremony with JD.
Being that the bride’s sister is also a florist, all of the flowers were DIY—the couple learned how to make their own arrangements per Caitlin’s sister’s instructions. On the day prior to the wedding, Caitlin’s bridesmaids also helped make s’mores and tied them in cellophane, twine, and attached tags, adding a tasty DIY seasonally-appropriate treat for guests. Favorite wedding day details include a rope-tying ceremony and the pastor giving a heartfelt sermon about the purpose of marriage, the incorporation of the couple’s love of football with towels distributed to guests with their favorite teams’ colors, and Caitlin’s long walk with her father prior to walking down the aisle.
The bride offers up some helpful advice to others planning their wedding to, “Start early! JD and I had everything mapped out 13 months before the wedding. Create and stick to a budget, and make sure all decisions are made as a couple.”
