Kristen & Derek’s Kings Contrivance wedding was captured perfectly by Sarah Culver Photography, and Kristen shares a little insight to their day, and why they chose to do a First Look!
“My wedding followed two very traditional weddings, so I was the first to do a “first look” before the ceremony. The first look was important to Derek and I because it let us actually talk to each other before we were in front of a crowd of people. We were able to get all of our emotions out during that first look, which allowed us to relax at our ceremony. In retrospect, the day goes by faster than you could ever imagine, and the first look gave us a chance to just pause and talk to each other and process the day ahead of us. And, in fact, we both agree that this was one of our favorite moments throughout the whole day. We also loved seeing all of our friends and family have a great time at the reception. One of the first things we decided was that we wanted to make sure we threw a great party. I’m pretty sure we succeeded because, at one point in the night, the videographer (a friend of ours) turned the camera over to the best man and had him film him while he danced!”
