Thanks to Kate Ann Photography for sharing Sarah+Misha’s Gunpowder Falls Engagement Session with us!  The bride, Sarah, shared a little bit of insight into their relationship, their engagement proposal, and their engagement session!

“Misha and I met in 2009 while working at Whole Foods Market. At the time, I was a Cashier and he was the Specialty Coffee Buyer. We had crushes on each other, and one day we “just happened” to take our lunch breaks at the same time. At the end of the break, Misha asked me out for a drink, and I did a secret happy dance. We’ve been inseparable ever since. In November of 2014 we went on a trip to Deep Creek, Maryland to celebrate our upcoming 4 year anniversary. Our plan was to drive out there, do a hike at Swallow Falls State Park, and then stay the night at a cute B&B. It snowed unexpectedly, and our hike was done through two inches of snow in frigid temperatures. However, the day was sunny and the snow on the old growth Hemlocks and Pines could not have been more beautiful. At the base of Muddy Creek Falls, the largest waterfall in Maryland, Misha got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. I was so excited, I don’t even remember what I said or did. Mostly a lot of “Yes yes yes!” We chose to shoot our engagement photos at Gunpowder Falls State Park. We love hiking, and we got engaged on a hike, so doing the shoot at one of our favorite hiking spots seemed perfect. There was a storm rolling in, and the light was low, but our amazing photographer found just the right spots to shoot, and we couldn’t be happier with the result. The photographs beautifully capture not only the park and the river, but the deep bond and expansive love that Misha and I share.”
