- For the film buffs and lovers of the art of cinematography, don’t miss the Maryland Film Festival, happening May 8th – May 12th. With films from all over world and “several highly anticipated made-in-Baltimore films”, this years festival may be the best one yet.
- Getting your flower garden ready? Head to the 2013 FlowerMart on Friday May 3rd & Saturday May 4th from 11am – 8pm. Not only a flower market, a variety of vendors will be on hand selling plants, arts & crafts, knick knacks, and of course food. Top it off with 2 stages of live entertainment and this is a great way to spend a day with your loved one!
- If you’ve never been to the annual Kinetic Sculpture Race, this is the year to do it. What is it? As per the race’s website, “Kinetic Sculptures are amphibious, human powered works of art custom built for the race. Each May, the American Visionary Art Museum (AVAM) hosts the East Coast Kinetic Sculpture Race Championship on the shore of Baltimore’s Inner Harbor in central Maryland. The eight-hour race covers 15 miles—mostly on pavement, but also including a trip into the Chesapeake Bay and through mud and sand.” The race sculptures are a sight to see!
- We always love to recommend a good place to eat, and this edition is no different. Take a trip to the neighborhood of Remington and check out the Papermoon Diner, who offers an “eccentric, eclectic, technicolor dining experience”. And the food is nothing short of AMAZING.
Happy May, LoveBirds!
