To me, this pineapple inspiration shoot at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club, from Emily Chastain Photography and Kennedy Events and Design, is the epitome of summer! Laura, from Kennedy Events and Design says “As a southern girl, I love the symbolism of the pineapple, which has been a quintessential representation of hospitality dating back to colonial times. In this shoot, we took this symbol outside of the plantation and feature the pineapple in a natural beach setting. The sandy beachfront, dramatic water views, and tall grasses at Chesapeake Bay Beach Club made the perfect setting for our pineapple-loaded details. The setting inspired a bridal look of soft makeup and loose hair. Flowers include loosely arranged greenery with white and neutral colored blooms, yellow accents, and mini pineapples. Earth tones continue in the ceremony space with a large, hand-made fan backdrop and lush greenery arrangements for the altar and aisle ends. The guest experience is an important aspect of this hospitality-themed shoot. Guests would receive this classically designed invitation suite featuring an amazing pineapple envelop liner. The welcome guest bag features coastal snacks, a beach towel, and a driftwood calligraphy tag. Also, calligraphy driftwood place cards display each guest’s place name. The romantic candlelit sweetheart table is styled with plank wood chargers, antique yellow glassware, mini pineapples, and personalized bride and groom calligraphy place cards. In colonial times, pineapples were used to accent the dining table and we wanted to reflect this tradition by including mini pineapples in each place setting to bring feelings of welcome and celebration. The dessert display added a whimsical touch to the shoot; dried pineapple flowers were used to adorn the front of the cake along with pineapple leaves at the base of each layer. This display also features the most delicious popsicles by Picnic Pops and no one was disappointed to have a little snack after these pops had been photographed! The most dramatic and dreamy sunset and perfect lighting for bridal portraits ended this perfect day.”
